Frequently Asked Questions

If you do not find the answer to your questions here then please contact us and we will be happy to help...

Why do you need to book an appointment?

We want to be able to provide you with a personal service and therefore allocate you a one-hour appointment slot, if we do not have another appointment straight after yours then you will be allowed a little longer. Your appointment will be with a trained member of female staff will who be on hand at all times to help you try gowns on and advise you. We do not allow you try gowns on without the help of staff as this avoids damage to stock. *Please note our boutique is run by appointment only and therefore the store may not be open if we do not have an appointment booked in so please do not just turn up without booking in, we would hate you to travel and be disappointed.

How many people can I bring with me to pick the dress?

Choosing your dream dress is often an experience you wish to share with close friends and family. However we believe that by bringing too many people with you can lead to many different opinions, which may make it more difficult for to you to pick the perfect dress. We therefore ask that you do not bring more than 3 guests with you. We do ask that ideally you leave small children at home so that you can enjoy your experience with us and relax, this also prevents the bride and guests from being distracted, stressed and also helps prevent our stock from getting damaged.

How far in advance should I look to purchase my dress and what about if I'm planning on losing weight?

As our gowns are 'off-the-peg' they don't stay in stock very long - once they are gone, they are gone and we replenish our stock with different dresses. We don't have two dresses the same. Therefore we suggest that you do not book an appointment unless you are ready to purchase your gown as this helps avoid disappointment if you fall in love with a particular  gown. You are of course more than welcome to browse at any time if you're just looking for ideas. If alterations are required we advise you allow 4 – 6 weeks before your wedding for your first fitting appointment with a seamstress after you have purchased your dress however don't panic as we are an 'off-the-peg' outlet we have lots of brides looking for a dress last minute - our seamstress can work their magic if needed and can turn things around in a matter of a few days! Dresses can be taken in a few sizes and corset backs make a world of difference to the shape of a dress. If you are planning on losing weight we will advise on the best options when trying on dresses when it comes to alterations. Be realistic and don't push yourself - once a dress is fitted properly it will look amazing regardless of your weight or shape!

Do you have adequate changing facilities?

We have a large changing area and a dedicated viewing area out the front of the shop so you can view your gown adequately and show your guests helping you to make an informed decision about the dressed you are trying on.

Why are your 'Off-the-Peg' wedding dresses so cheap?

We have contacts in the wedding trade and are able to source designer wedding dresses that have been used as ex-display or ex-sample dresses in other bridal shops that are no longer required as they are last seasons stock. Most are still in excellent condition (some have minor defects that you can easily repair) - allowing us to provide you with massive savings! So why pay thousands for a designer wedding dress when you can purchase it from us at a fraction of the cost? (Please Note: your alteration costs are an additional charge)

Do you have a brochure of your dresses?

As our stock changes frequently it is impractical for us to produce an up to date brochure as it would go out of date quickly. However we do try to keep our Facebook gallery up-to-date of all of our latest stock and update this on a regular basis. The best thing to do is book an appointment and come and see for yourself our beautiful range of dresses and accessories.

How do I prepare for my appointment?

Buying your wedding dress should be the best bit of your wedding planning! Come with an open mind even if you have a particular style in mind, as we honestly believe until you try a dress on you don't know what it will look like on you - be honest with us and yourself and follow your heart. Every dress looks different when it is tried on so unless you already know what style suits you, be prepared to try different styles – that way you’ll know when you try on the perfect dress. Eliminating styles is just as important as finding the styles you like in the search for your perfect dress. Please bear your budget in mind when trying on gowns and be honest with us as we can help and suggest dresses within your price range. Come wearing a strapless bra and ideally nude underwear to help get the best out of your fitting. We also kindly ask you keep fake tan and makeup to a minimum to avoid damage to our dresses.

What kind of payment do you accept?

We accept payment by cash or most major debit / credit cards (excluding American Express). We can also take payment via the telephone and bank transfer.

What are your opening times and how do I find you?

Please see our contact us page for further details.
